Hawai'i-San Diego State Postgame Notes

Big Notes
• San Diego State sits alone atop the West Division of the Mountain West with a 3-1 league record. The Aztecs are looking for the 20th conference title in school history and the second in the last three seasons.
• The Aztecs improved to 3-0 at home this season. SDSU has won five consecutive home games, six straight home contests against unranked teams and 10 consecutive home games vs. unranked conference opponents.
• The five-game home winning streak is San Diego State's longest in 17 seasons. The Aztecs' last home winning streak of at least five games was from Oct. 9, 1998 through Sept. 4, 1999 (also five games).
• SDSU is now 16-3 in its last 19 Mountain West games. Coming into the week, the 15-3 conference record since Oct. 6, 2012 was tied for the 12th-best conference winning percentage in the country (league games only).
• San Diego State improved to 12-5 in its last 17 games dating back to last season with two of those losses coming to nationally ranked opponents.
• The Aztecs rushed for 283 yards. Hawai'i came into the game allowing just 125.83 rushing yards per game (36th in the nation).
• SDSU played in its third consecutive game in which fewer than 40 points were scored by both teams for the first time since 2004 (Oct. 9-23). San Diego State is 2-1 over the streak this year after going 0-3 over the streak in 2004.
• San Diego State improved to 3-0 on the season and 20-2 in the Rocky Long era when rushing for at least 200 yards. The Aztecs have won 12 straight games when rushing for at least 200 yards.

Team Notes
• The Aztecs improved to 8-2 in their last 10 games played during the month of October.
• SDSU held its opponent scoreless on its opening drive for the sixth time in seven games this year. San Diego State's opponents have a total of seven points in their seven opening possessions.
• The Aztecs held their opponent without a touchdown on its second-half opening drive for 25th time in their last 27 games. SDSU has allowed just 26 points over the past 27 second-half opening drives.
• San Diego State now has at least one interception in eight straight games for the first time since an eight-game streak in 2010 (Sept. 8-Nov. 13).
• The Aztecs attempted just their fifth, fourth-down attempt in their seventh game (they went 1-for-2). Last year, SDSU tied California for the most fourth down attempts in the country (38, going 15-for-38).
• Donny Hageman made his eighth consecutive field goal in the first quarter, but was 1-for-2 in the fourth quarter and is 10-for-12 on the year. Last year, San Diego State kickers were 8-for-16. The Aztecs' opponents are 4-for-9 on the year.

Trends
• The Aztecs started with the ball for the 33rd time in the last 35 games.
• SDSU has now gone 97 games without suffering a shutout (Nov. 18, 2006, at TCU), which is the third-longest active streak among current Mountain West schools (Air Force at 264 and Boise State at 218).
• San Diego State improved to 3-1 on the year and 18-8 in the Rocky Long era when scoring first.
• The Aztecs scored their most points (10) in the first quarter against an FBS school since scoring 14 vs. New Mexico on Nov. 2, 2013.
• SDSU had its largest lead (10) after the first quarter against an FBS opponent since leading Hawai'i, 14-0, on Oct. 6, 2012.
• San Diego State won its fifth straight game, improved to 3-0 on the year and 17-3 in the Rocky Long era when leading after the first quarter.
• The Aztecs improved to 4-1 on the year and 17-3 in the Rocky Long era when leading at the half.
• SDSU improved to 4-1 on the season and 22-4 in the Rocky Long era when leading after three quarters.
• San Diego State improved to 3-0 on the season and 20-2 in the Rocky Long era when rushing for at least 200 yards. The Aztecs have won 12 straight games when rushing for at least 200 yards.
• SDSU is now 15-2 at home since Sept. 4, 2010 when rushing for 200 or more yards.
• San Diego State improved to 36-4 since Nov. 8, 1997 when rushing for 200 or more yards and recording two or less turnovers.

The Series
• San Diego State is now 18-9-2 series all-time against Hawai'i. The Aztecs have won the last three meetings between the teams.
• The Aztecs improved to 9-3 all-time against Hawai'i in San Diego and has won seven straight encounters between the teams in "America's Finest City". The last loss to the Rainbow Warriors in San Diego came on Oct. 15, 1988.
• SDSU recorded its 14th straight team 100-yard rushing game in the series (San Diego State's Division I era only - since 1969).
• The Aztecs posted their eighth 200-yard rushing game in the series.

• Rushed for 182 yards and one touchdown on 25 attempts, averaging 7.3 yards per carry.
• Recorded his fifth 100-yard rushing game of the season (in seven contests) and eighth of his career (in 20 games). The eight career 100-yard games are tied for 10th all-time at SDSU.
• Scored his 12th rushing touchdown of the season and 20th of his career.
• Scored his 12th overall touchdown of the year and 22nd of his career.
• The Aztecs improved to 7-1 over his career when he rushes for at least 100 yards and 9-3 when he has at least one rushing touchdown.
• Now has 1,741 yards over his career, which is the 15th most in school history.

• Rushed for a career-high 38 yards on two attempts, 19.0 yards per carry.
• Also set career highs in attempts (2, tied), rushing average (19.0) and long (34 yards).

* Chase Price, Jr., RB (12 att., 41 yds.)
• Rushed for 41 yards on 12 attempts, 3.4 yards per carry.

* Lloyd Mills, So., WR (4 rec., 42 yds., 1 TD)
• Had four receptions for 42 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown.
• Finished with career highs in receptions (4) and touchdowns (1).
• His 42 yards were three off his career high.

* Quinn Kaehler, Sr., QB (13-for-24, 174 yds., 1 TD, 0 INT)
• Finished the game with 174 passing yards, going 13-for-24 with one touchdown and zero interceptions in his first start since being injured (shoulder).
• Improved to 11-5 as the starting quarterback over his career, passing for 17 touchdowns against four interceptions.

* Na'im McGee, So., Aztec (8 tackles (5 solo))
• Finished the game with a career-high eight tackles (5 solo).

* Donny Hagemen, Jr., PK (2-for-3 FGs, 2-for-2 PATs)
• Was 2-for-3 in field-goal attempts and is now 10-for-12 on the season.
• Had his streak of consecutive field-goal makes snapped at eight with a miss in the fourth quarter.

Other Notes
• Cody Galea started for the 29th consecutive game, which leads all Aztecs (doesn't include specialists).
• Josh Gavert played in his 46th straight game, which is the most of any current SDSU player.
• Damontae Kazee picked up his first interception of the season and second of his career.
• Malik Smith had his second interception of the season (and career).
• Alex Barrett recorded his team-leading third sack of the season and sixth of his career.
• Daryl Dunlap recorded his first career tackle.
