COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State's Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah) has been tabbed Mountain West Co-Women's Golfer of the Month for her strong performances in two September tournaments, the league office announced Wednesday. With her selection, the Aztec sophomore collected the third conference monthly award of her career and first of the season.

Blair kicked off the 2014-15 campaign with a runner-up effort at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colorado, where she carded a 4-under 212 to help SDSU capture the team title in its season-opening meet. During the second round, Blair fired a 3-under 69, marking her second-lowest 18-hole total in an Aztec uniform. In addition, she tied for the tournament lead with a 3.90 scoring average on par-4 holes and sank 11 birdies across three rounds.

The following week at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Blair found herself near the top of the leaderboard once again, tying for the third spot individually to lead San Diego State to a fifth-place result in the team standings. She drained an additional 13 birdies for the event, finishing just four shots off the pace with a collective 5-under 214.

Through two tournaments, Blair leads the MW with a team-best 71.00 scoring average and has completed five of six rounds below par this fall. With her results, the South Jordan, Utah, native enters the week with a No. 15 individual ranking by Golfweek.

The Aztecs, ranked 12th in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin team poll, will return to action in 10 days when they head to the Lone Star State for the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational, scheduled for Oct. 12-14, in Austin, Texas.
