FORT COLLINS, Colo. - San Diego State's Emma Henrikson (Malmö, Sweden) and Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah) each shot a collective 5-under par 139 on Monday to grab a share of the individual lead following the first two rounds of the Colonel Bill Wollenberg Ptarmigan Ram Classic. As a team, the Aztecs vaulted to the top of the standings after posting a 36-hole total of 1-over 577 at the par-72, 6,352-yard at Ptarmigan Country Club.

With its performance, SDSU has opened up a nine-stroke advantage over Illinois (+10) and Colorado (+10) in its season-opening tournament, while UNLV (+13) and Gonzaga (+14) round out the top five.

After carding an even-par 72 in the first round, Henrikson played bogey-free golf in the afternoon, draining five birdies, including back-to-back conversions at Nos. 17-18, en route to a collegiate-best 67.

Similarly, Blair had her putter working for much of the day, sinking a combined team-best nine birdies to offset five bogeys. The 2013-14 Mountain West Freshman of the Year fired a 70 in morning session, before closing with a 69 to complete her second-lowest two-round tally in an SDSU uniform.

Entering Tuesday's final round, Henrikson and Blair maintain a slim one-shot edge over Gonzaga's Raychelle Santos (-4), who occupies the third position, while Alexis Keating of Colorado (-2) and Idaho's Leilanie Kim (-1) comprise the remainder of the top-five individual leaders.

The Aztecs also witnessed the debuts of freshmen Mila Chaves (Asuncion, Paraguay) and Georgia Lacey (Del Mar, Calif.) on Monday. Through 36 holes, Chaves finds herself in an eight-way tie for the 30th position at 6-over 150 after firing a pair of 75s, while Lacey sits five shots behind in a tie for 58th with an 11-over 158 on rounds of 72-83.

Chaves managed to ease the sting of eight bogeys and two double-bogeys by carding six birdies overall, including three over a four-hole stretch on the back nine of her opening round. Lacey, meanwhile, drained six birdies of her in own in the morning session, but came up empty in the second round as six bogeys and a double-double bogey proved too much to overcome.

The Aztecs were also represented by Paige Spiranac (Scottsdale, Ariz.), who landed in a tie for the 67th positon at 14-over 158. After firing an uncharacteristic 81 in the first round, the two-time all-MW selection regrouped somewhat with a 77 in the afternoon, featuring a birdie on the par-3 No. 11, which ranked as the second-toughest hole of the second round.

The Ptarmigan Ram Classic concludes on Tuesday, with the Aztecs scheduled to tee off for the final 18 holes alongside Illinois and Colorado in a shotgun start, beginning at 8:30 a.m. MT/7:30 a.m. PT.
