STANFORD, Calif. - Elaine Ribeiro came in 44th out of 330 runners to pace the San Diego State cross country team Saturday at the Stanford Invitational in Stanford, Calif.
Ribeiro completed the 6,000-meter course in 22 minutes, 10 seconds and has now finished as the Aztecs' top runner in all three races she has finished this year.
Grace Hanshaw was the next to cross the line for SDSU, coming in 65th in 22:34, while Lily Seynaeve was right behind in 72nd at 22:36.
Rachel Roesgen (89th, 22:49) and Chelsea Kruthers (103rd, 22:57) were San Diego State's No. 4 and No. 5 runners, respectively, followed by Dynasty Gammage (160th, 22:57) and Cassidy Towner (218th, 24:11).
Washington State's Abby Regan won the race in 20:31.
The Aztecs totaled 256 points for the meet, tying with UC Santa Barbara for 10th out of 21 teams. SDSU and the Gauchos were each just 11 points out of seventh place. The host Cardinal won the meet with 71 points, while UC Davis (94), Cal Poly (117), Loyola Marymount (118) and Washington State (137) rounded out the top five.
SDSU returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 18 at UC Riverside's Highlander Invitational at 8:30 a.m. PT.
