SAN DIEGO -

SDSU Fall Classic I Brackets

The San Diego State women's tennis team is set to open its fall slate as it plays host to the SDSU Fall Classic I beginning on Friday, September 26. The annual tournament will run through Sunday and will feature six teams, including the Aztecs, from across the country.

Among the teams visiting the Aztec Tennis Center for the three-day event will be Grand Canyon University, cross-town rival San Diego, New Mexico State, Northridge and Loyola Marymount.

The tournament will feature six singles draws and three doubles brackets. Action will get underway each day beginning with doubles play with first serve set for 9 a.m. with singles competition immediately following.

The Aztecs will return seven from last year's team, including seniors Kristin Buth and Hailey Johnson. With last season's Mountain West Player of the Year, Laura Antonaña Iriarte, graduating, San Diego State has bolstered the roster with freshmen Felicia Ahlborg, Jana Buth and Paola Diaz de Regules. The three newcomers will compete for the first time on The Mesa this weekend.

Admission is free and fans are encouraged to park in PS 5 on the corner of 55th Street and Montezuma Road. Parking is $1 per hour and is always required in PS 5. The Aztec Tennis Center is located just beyond Tony Gwynn Stadium, SDSU Softball Stadium and the Aztec Aquaplex on the northwest edge of campus.
