SAN DIEGO - The No. 27th-ranked San Diego State men's soccer team earned its fourth-straight victory on Friday night, as freshman midfielder Brady Blackwell's game-winning goal in the 86th minute propelled the Aztecs over Wright State, 3-2, at SDSU Sports Deck.

Blackwell trickled in a diagonal shot off a pass from Alec Petit that was well out of the reach of Wright State goalkeeper Tyler Blackmer. San Diego State (4-1) has now won four-consecutive matches for the first time since September of 2011, and is now 16-5-2 in non-conference home matches since the beginning of the 2010 campaign. It's also the Aztecs' best start through five matches since the 2010 team also began the season 4-1.

SDSU responded quickly to Wright State's goal in the 13th minute with sophomore forward Forrayah Bass' beautiful unassisted goal in the 14th minute. Bass split two defenders on the right side before blasting a diagonal shot into the left side of the net to knot the score, 1-1. Freshman forward David Olsen, the reigning Pac-12 Player of the Week, gave the Aztecs their first lead of the night in the 37th minute, when he knocked through a diagonal shot off a cross from freshman Donald Benamna to make it 2-1.

Wright State (3-1-1) came back to tie the score 2-2 going into halftime when Peguy Ngatcha scored from close range on a ball redirected by Aztec defender Evyn Hewett in the 42nd minute. But after each team's defense kept the other off the scoreboard for the majority of the second half, Blackwell came through for the Aztecs at just the right time.

San Diego State had a commanding lead in shots taken over Wright State, 15-6, including a 9-3 advantage in the second half. Redshirt freshman goalkeeper Adam Allmaras picked up this fourth-straight victory in the net without recording a save, while junior defender Casey Phillips recorded a team-high three shots and played all 90 minutes.

The Aztecs return to the pitch on Sunday, Sept. 14, when they play host to Pacific at the Sports Deck beginning at 7 p.m. PT.

Man of the Match: Freshman Brady Blackwell (Dublin, Ohio) was named Man of the Match on Friday evening, as he scored the Aztecs' game-winning goal in the 86th minute. It was Blackwell's first-career goal, as the midfielder came to Montezuma Road ranked 17th in the region and a four-star recruit by Top Drawer Soccer coming out of Dublin Scioto High.
