SAN DIEGO - San Diego State is excited to announce its new Aztec Varsity Club - a non-profit, exclusive former student-athlete, student athletic trainer and student equipment manager group. The Aztec Varsity Club intends to engage and build relationships through the common bond of sport with all athletic alumni, current student-athletes and the SDSU athletics department.

"The Aztec Varsity Club will be an integral part of building strong relationships with current and former Aztecs," SDSU Director of Athletics Jim Sterk said. "As an athletic department, our goal is to win championships, graduate student-athletes, and encourage athletic alumni engagement."

The Aztec Varsity Club launches on Aug. 1, and encourages athletic alumni from all decades to support former and current Aztecs. This engagement group has become a necessity for the growth of athletic department excellence. Member benefits include, but are not limited to, an exclusive Aztec Varsity Tailgate at one home football game, a special invitation to mentorship and networking events, and discounted football season tickets.

Membership to the Aztec Varsity club is restricted to persons who have lettered and participated for more than one year as a student-athlete, student athletic trainer or student equipment manager for a varsity sport at San Diego State.
