CLE ELUM, Wash. - The San Diego State women's golf team remains in 21st place after shooting a collective 30-over par 306 on Friday during the second round of the 2014 NCAA West Regional Championships at Suncadia Resort. The Aztecs stumbled out of the gates for the second day in a row and were unable to gain ground, posting a 36-hole total of 59-over 635 on the par-72, 6,252-yard Tumble Creek Club course layout.

SDSU was once again led by Emma Henrikson (Malmö, Sweden), who held steady in a tie for the 45th spot on the individual leaderboard at 9-over 153 after carding a 77 on Friday. The Aztec sophomore was plagued by a slow start, opening with two double-bogeys and two bogeys over her first five holes before playing even-par the rest of the way, highlighted by a birdie on the par-4, 340-yard No. 6, which played as the sixth-toughest hole during the second round.

Likewise, Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah) was forced to regroup after beginning the day with five straight bogeys en route to a second-round 79.The SDSU freshman had momentum on her side after notching two birdies and six pars over her next nine holes. However, Blair suffered three bogeys down the stretch to slip seven places into a tie for 69th at 12-over 156.

Meanwhile, Paige Spiranac (Scottsdale, Ariz.) matched Blair's 79 on Friday despite experiencing difficulty on the back nine. The Aztec junior was just 2-over for the round after sinking a birdie on the par-5, 525-yard No. 14, which eased the sting of a triple-bogey two holes earlier. However, five bogeys after the turn prevented any significant gains on the leaderboard. Still, Spiranac managed to climb six spots into a tie for 87th at 15-over 159.

Elsewhere, Kristina Lynn (Carlsbad, Calif.) had her score count for the second straight day after finishing with an 11-over 83. The SDSU junior moved up three spots into a tie for 112th at 23-over 167 after tying Blair and Henrikson with two birdies, including an impressive conversion on the par-3, 165-yard No. 17.

Rounding out the Aztec delegation was freshman Maria Fernanda Villegas (Ensenada, Mexico), who sits in a tie for 119th with a combined 25-over 169 after recording an 84 over the second 18 holes.

Arizona State (+2) posted the collective low round of the day with a 289 to forge a tie with USC (+2) atop the team standings, while host Washington (+4) and Oklahoma (+10) remain in contention. Individually, Kyung Kim of USC (-4) finds herself in a tie for the lead with Washington's SooBin Kim (-4), while Marijosse Navarro of Texas A&M (-3) and Arizona State's Noemi Jimenez (-3) trail by just one shot apiece.

San Diego State will wrap up competition at the NCAA West Regionals on Saturday when it tees off with Portland State and Chattanooga for the final round on hole No. 1, starting at 12:55 p.m. PT. The top eight finishing teams and two low individuals not on those squads advance out of the West Regional into the NCAA championship series, scheduled for May 20-23 in Tulsa, Okla.
