Summer Camp Registration

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's soccer program will play host to a pair of on-campus summer camps in early July. The ID camp is scheduled for July 5-6, with the youth camp following immediately after on July 7-9.

SDSU is committed to providing a camp that is both instructional and informational along with creating a great atmosphere to learn. The Aztec coaching staff, which features head coach Mike Friesen, associate head coach Juan Pablo Favero and assistant coach Edgar Anzaldo, is dedicated to the development and growth of soccer players of all ages and skill levels.

The ID camp (July 5 - 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; July 6 - 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.) is open to any and all girls entering the eighth grade (2019 high school graduation year) and above. The camp, which is $250, is designed for players to get maximum exposure in front of the San Diego State coaching staff and is a great opportunity for players to be trained and evaluated by the SDSU staff. Training sessions are slated to include small-sided and 11v11 games and a sports psychology session.

Because of positive feedback in the past and interest in the mental training aspect, there will be an extra sports psychology session offered in order to go more in depth than the introductory session already included in the ID camp. The additional and optional session is $50 and will cover the all-important skill of positive self-talk and personal affirmation statements. The two very practical and important areas will help campers see an immediate impact in their mental game and athletic performance. The extra session is limited to the first 25 campers who sign up.

The youth camp, meanwhile, is open to any and all girls born between 2002-07 (entering second grade-seventh grade) and is $125. All three days, July 7-9, begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon. These sessions will be led by Favero and Anzaldo, with the help of current SDSU women's soccer players, who will assist and help teach soccer skills to each of the campers. The staff will focus on individual work to develop technical skills, have small-sided games to learn tactical concepts and integrate other fun soccer-based games. The goal of the youth camp is to teach skills and new concepts, and to help ignite a passion for the game.

Registration for each of the camps is available here. If there are any questions please email wsoccer@mail.sdsu.edu or call (619) 594-1916.
