ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - It was déjà vu all over again as the SDSU offense went missing until late in the contest and New Mexico cashed in with timely hitting to record a 13-5 victory over the Aztecs in the series finale Sunday afternoon at Lobo Field.

The loss dropped San Diego State's record to 32-16 overall and 13-11 in the Mountain West Conference. As a result of dropping two of three in Albuquerque, the Aztecs find themselves in fourth place in the league standings, a game behind Nevada and three games in back of co-leaders UNLV and New Mexico.

Aztec second baseman Tim Zier, who finished the afternoon with three hits, a walk and two runs scored, put his name in the school record book as his single in the opening inning made him the all-time hit leader at San Diego State.

Ty France also had a three-hit day with an RBI and run scored while Tyler Adkison added a pair of singles and an RBI. Haynal drove in two of SDSU's five runs with the home run and a sacrifice fly.

The Aztecs had runners in scoring position in four of the first five innings, but came up empty on each occasion. They went down in order only twice in the game and stranded a total of 12 base runners.

San Diego State's first run came in the top of the sixth on Brad Haynal's solo home run, his second in two days and 11th of the season. The only problem was that SDSU trailed 7-0 heading into that frame after the Lobos had scored twice in the second and added five more in the fourth.

With a 7-1 lead after Haynal's long ball, New Mexico took solid control of the contest by scoring four times in the bottom of the sixth to extend its advantage to 11-1.

The Aztecs added a pair of consolation runs in both the seventh and eighth innings, but the home side added two to its total in the bottom of the eighth for the final 13-5 score line.

San Diego State starting pitcher Mark Seyler (7-4) took the loss after tossing 3.2 innings and surrendering six runs on seven hits with two walks. The Aztec utilized six hurlers in the contest with five them being charged with runs.

Lobo starting hurler Drew Bridges (3-1) was credited with the win after going 4.1 innings allowing just three hits along with two walks and a strikeout. Victor Sanchez went the final three frames to record his eighth save of the season.

Up next for The Aztecs is a short trip north on Tuesday, May 6, to face Long Beach State in a contest scheduled to get underway at 6:00 p.m. at Blair Field.
