SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State football team announced Tuesday that it has moved its future home game with Arizona State, originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018, to the following week Saturday, Sept 15, at Qualcomm Stadium. The change was necessitated when the Sun Devils arranged a home-and-away series with Michigan State in 2018-19.
ASU is Aztecs' only confirmed non-conference opponent thus far on the 2018 slate. The two sides have not faced one another since the 2007 season and will renew acquaintances beginning in 2017 at Sun Devil Stadium/Frank Kush Field in Tempe, Ariz.
San Diego State will also revive another dormant series against a Pac-12 adversary when it squares off against UCLA in 2019 (away) and 2020 (home).
The Aztecs return 12 starters and 36 letterwinners from a squad that posted an 8-5 record (6-2 Mountain West) in 2013, culminating in a 49-24 triumph over Buffalo in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. The victory marked SDSU's school-record fourth consecutive bowl game appearance.
SDSU kicks off its 2014 campaign on Saturday, Aug. 30, when it welcomes Northern Arizona to Qualcomm Stadium. Season tickets are now available to the general public for as low as $66 per seat. Tickets may be purchased online at GoAztecs.com, at Qualcomm Stadium Window "E" Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or by calling(619) 283-7378 Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. All orders have a $15 handling fee regardless of the point of sale.
