NAPA, Calif. - Playing in its final tournament of the regular season, the San Diego State women's golf team finds itself in 14th place following the first two rounds of the inaugural Silverado Showdown at the famed Silverado Resort and Spa. The Aztecs trimmed seven strokes off their morning score on Monday, carding rounds of 311 and 304 for a combined total of 39-over 615 on the par-72, 6,196-yard North Course.

SDSU's top three players remain within two shots of one another, led by Paige Spiranac (Scottsdale, Ariz.), who landed in a tie for 37th individually at 7-over 151. The Aztec junior began the day with a 75, highlighted by three birdies, including two straight on holes 8-9, before shooting a 76 in the afternoon.

Trailing Spiranac by one stroke is Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah), who sits in the 41st position at 8-over 152. The SDSU freshman rebounded from an opening-round 79 to post the team's lowest score with a 73 during the second round, offsetting three bogeys with a pair of birdies to climb 11 spots on the leaderboard.

Meanwhile, Emma Henrikson (Malmö, Sweden) ended the day one shot in back of Blair at 9-over 153 after firing a 76 and 77.The Aztec sophomore was even through the first 11 holes of her morning round, thanks in part to three birdies. However, a triple-bogey on No. 4, followed by bogeys at Nos. 5 and 7, thwarted her advance. Still, Henrikson managed to close with another birdie on No. 10, but was unable regain her touch on the greens for the rest of the day as five bogeys on the back nine in the afternoon sandbagged her second round.

Elsewhere, junior Amy Alston (Mission Viejo, Calif.) completed the first 36 holes of the tournament in a tie for 64th at 15-over 159 after firing rounds of 81 and 78, while senior Maureen Dunnagan (Lexington, S.C.) wound up in a tie for 69th at 18-over 162 following consecutive 81s.

Washington (+5) holds a slim advantage in the team standings over USC (+6) and Oregon State (+7) while Northwestern (+9) and Arizona (+14) round out the top five. Individually, Arizona's Lindsay Weaver (-8) opened up a two-shot advantage over Regan De Guzman of San José State (-6), while Washington's SooBin Kim (-5) and Sophia Popov of USC (-4) remain in contention.

Final-round action at the Silverado Showdown gets underway on Tuesday, with the Aztecs teeing off alongside California and Washington State in a shotgun start, beginning at 8:30 a.m. PDT.
