STANFORD, Calif. - The San Diego State women's golf team fired a collective 13-over par 297 on Sunday to finish in seventh place following the final round of the 19th annual Peg Barnard Invitational. The Aztecs moved up four spots from their first-round standing, completing the 36-hole tournament with a combined 34-over 605 at the 6,084-yard, par-71 Stanford Golf Course.

Emma Henrikson (Malmö, Sweden) made the biggest jump of the day for SDSU, vaulting 32 places from the 49th position into a tie for 17th at 8-over 149 after firing a team-low 71. The Aztec sophomore offset three bogeys with a trio of birdies for her fourth top-20 result of the year and ninth of her collegiate career.

Paige Spiranac (Scottsdale, Ariz.) finished one shot ahead of Henrikson, tying for 15th at 7-over 148 after posting her second straight 74 on Sunday. Despite carding five bogeys and a double-bogey, the SDSU junior salvaged her round with four birdies, including a pair on her final two holes to jump two places from the 17th spot en route to her second straight top-15 finish dating back to last fall.

Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah) also displayed upward mobility, climbing 13 spots into a tie for 21st following a final-round 74. The Aztec freshman tied for second in the field with 27 pars for the weekend, including 15 on Sunday, to finish the tournament at 9-over 150.

Meanwhile, fellow classmate Maria Fernanda Villegas (Ensenada, Mexico) experienced the opposite fate, dropping five places into a tie for 47th at 13-over 155 after posting a 78 over the final 18 holes. Villegas, who was making her first collegiate start, was unable to recover from a double-bogey on her opening hole despite draining a birdie on the par-3 No. 17.

The SDSU delegation also included senior Maureen Dunnagan (Lexington, S.C.), who logged an 82 on Sunday to finish the tournament in 72nd with a combined 166.

Host Stanford (+2) easily defended its team title, winning by 16 shots over UC Davis (+18), while UNLV (+24) finished a distant third, followed by California (+27) and Oregon (+28).

Individually, UNLV's Dana Finkelstein shot a 68 on Sunday en route to capturing medalist honors with a combined 5-under 137, staving off a challenge by Lauren Kim (-3) and Casey Danielson of Stanford (-3), both of whom tied for the runner-up spot, while the Cardinal's defending champion Mariah Stackhouse (-1) and Cassy Isagawa of Oregon (-1) tied for fourth.

San Diego State returns to the course in two weeks when it competes in the Bruin Wave Invitational, March 3-4, at El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana, Calif.
