SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year, the association announced on Wednesday.

The Aztecs finished the year with a 3.05 grade-point-average. It is the second time in program history SDSU has received the honor, with the other coming in 2010.

Three San Diego State players were named to the Pac-12 All-Academic team on Nov. 21, including junior Anthony Gooch (Santa Cruz, Calif.), senior Morgan Sacco (Greeley, Colo.) and senior Kody Duff (Roseville, Calif.). Gooch had the team's high GPA of 3.55, while Sacco had a 3.52 and Duff had a 3.51.

In addition, Duff was named to the Capital One Academic All-District 8 Team on Oct. 31, and is the only Aztec to earn the honor since 2003.

The NSCAA Team Academic Award is handed out to NCAA teams across all three divisions for earning a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
