WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Three San Diego State men's soccer players earned Pac-12 All-Academic honors, the conference announced on Thursday.
Seniors Kody Duff (Roseville, Calif.), Morgan Sacco (Greeley, Colo.) and junior Anthony Gooch (Santa Cruz, Calif.) were each named to the second team. It's the second-consecutive season each of the three student-athletes has received second-team honors, and third-straight year for Duff and Sacco.
Duff has a 3.51 grade-point-average and is studying business finance. He finished the season third on the team with 10 points on four goals and two assists, and was also named to the Capital One Academic All-District 8 Team on Oct. 31.
Sacco is a business management major with a 3.52 GPA. The senior was the Aztecs' fifth leading scorer this season with eight points on three goals and two assists, appearing in all 19 games.
Gooch majors in exercise nutrition science and holds a 3.53 GPA. In addition to his second straight all-academic second-team selection, he was also an honorable mention in 2011. A redshirt junior, Gooch will graduate this spring.
To be eligible for selection to the all-academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall GPA and either be a starter or a significant contributor.
