SAN DIEGO - San Diego State rebounded from its lone loss of the season in resounding fashion Wednesday night after defeating San Diego Christian, 93-41, at Viejas Arena. With the win, SDSU moved to 2-1 on the season.

The Aztecs came out and made a statement by holding San Diego Christian scoreless for the first 6 minutes, 31 seconds and took a 21-1 lead. During its game-deciding run, San Diego State made its first five field-goal attempts and had five Aztecs find their way into the scoring column before the Hawks connected on a free throw to log their first point.

In fact, SDSU led, 27-3, and had six players score before the Hawks recorded their first field goal with 10 minutes, 35 seconds, left in the first half. Before connecting on its first field goal, SDC missed its first 10 shots to dig itself an insurmountable hole. At the halftime horn, San Diego State built a 49-23 lead with nine of 10 Aztecs scoring.

San Diego State did not miss a beat after coming out of the locker room as it promptly started the new period on a 12-1 run to move ahead, 61-24. The Aztecs continued to maintain their comfortable lead throughout the half with their advantage growing to as many as 58 points with 3:50 remaining before settling for the 52-point victory.

SDSU had five players score in double figures, including Josh Davis, who finished with 16 points on 7-of-9 field goals, while Josh Davis recorded a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. Also contributing to the Aztec cause were Dwayne Polee II and Matt Shrigley, who totaled 14 points apiece, while Winston Shepard chipped in 10 of his own. Not to be outdone, Aqeel Quinn handed out a game-high five assists, while Skylar Spencer posted four blocks.

As a team, SDSU connected on 37 of 65 shots from the floor (56.9 percent), while limiting San Diego Christian to a 12-for-54 clip on the evening (22.2 percent). The Aztecs also maintained a robust 54-14 advantage in the paint and outscored the Hawks 34-14 on points off turnovers.

San Diego Christian was led by Kwaminique Brandon's 14 points and four steals, while Tyler Cross tallied eight points, four rebounds and two assists in the loss.

The Aztecs return to action on Thanksgiving evening when they face College of Charleston inside Titan Gym on the campus of Cal State Fullerton. The DIRECTV Wooden Legacy game is set for 5:30 p.m. PT with the game airing on ESPNU.
