SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's soccer team caught fire in the second half with three goals after intermission, as the Aztecs topped Grand Canyon, 4-0, on Tuesday night at SDSU Sports Deck.

It was SDSU's second-largest margin of victory this season, behind only the Aztecs' 5-0 win over San Diego in the season opener on Aug. 30. It's also the second-most goals scored in a single game this season by San Diego State.

Senior midfielder Kevin Bick scored the first goal of the night to give SDSU a first half lead, while senior forward Jordan Ongaro, freshman midfielder Alec Petit and senior Blake Wise each scored in the second half. It was Petit's first-career goal, while redshirt freshman goalkeeper Keenan Townsend recorded two saves in his first-career start for the victory.

Bick got the Aztecs on the scoreboard in the 26th minute with a nifty move to split two Grand Canyon defenders, before knocking through a shot from straight on and 10 yards out to put SDSU ahead, 1-0. Ongaro followed with his team-leading 10th goal of the season from close range in the 61st minute, as fellow senior Morgan Sacco set him up with the assist. With the score, Ongaro is the only Aztec to record 10 goals in a season during head coach Lev Kirshner's 14-year tenure.

Petit notched his first goal on a diagonal shot off a pass from Ongaro in the 66th minute to extend the lead, 3-0, and Wise's goal in the final seconds of the match put an exclamation point on the victory.

San Diego State out-shot Grand Canyon, 25-8, with nine shots on target and another that hit the post. The Aztecs played 21 players on the night, with 13 recording at least one shot. Ongaro tallied a team-high five shots and his assist was his first of the season, as he leads SDSU with 21 points. Sacco's assist was his second of the year.

Man of the Match: Senior forward Jordan Ongaro (Edmonton, Alberta, Canada) was named Man of the Match on Tuesday, as he scored a goal and recorded an assist in the Aztecs' 4-0 victory over Grand Canyon. It was Ongaro's 10th goal and first assist of the season, as he leads SDSU with 21 points and is the first Aztec during head coach Lev Kirshner's tenure to record 10 goals in a single season.
