SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's soccer team put forth one of its most complete performance of the season on Sunday, defeating Oregon State, 2-0, at SDSU Sports Deck. In the process, the Aztecs swept the season series against the Beavers.

Senior midfielder Morgan Sacco scored a goal and recorded an assist for SDSU (5-8-1, 2-4-1 Pac-12), which won for the second time in its last three Pac-12 matches. In addition, senior forward Jordan Ongaro knocked through his team-leading eighth goal of the season in the second half.

San Diego State out-shot Oregon State, 17-8, as Ongaro led the Aztecs with five shots and senior midfielder Black Wise tallied three. Sophomore goalkeeper John Marcuzzo made his first-career start, finishing with one save in the shutout victory.

The Aztecs began the match strong, as Sacco knocked in a goal from straight on and 15 yards out into the left side of the net to put SDSU ahead, 1-0, in the fourth minute. San Diego State kept the pressure on, following up Sacco's score with a header by Ongaro that sailed high in the eighth minute, and a shot by Wise that went wide left in the 12th minute.

SDSU extended its lead in the second half when Ongaro gathered a pass from Sacco, spun around, and blasted a diagonal shot into the right side of the net from 10 yards out to make it 2-0 in the 56th minute. Ongaro entered the week ranked second in the Pac-12 in both goals and goals per match.

San Diego State returns to action this weekend, as the Aztecs head to Northern California to face No. 1-ranked California on Friday, Nov. 1, before taking on Stanford on Sunday, Nov. 3.
