SAN DIEGO - San Diego State junior Hannah Keane has been named the College Sports Madness Mountain West Player of the Week for a third time this season. The Sacramento native helped the Aztecs stay atop the MW standings with a pair of wins last week.
In a 3-0 win over UNLV last Friday, Keane scored the game-winner just 68 seconds into the game off a throw in from Haley Palmer. The forward later added an assist on Kelsey Booth's header in the 26th minute. Keane also led all players with four shots and three shots on goal in 66 minutes of action.
Two days later vs. Nevada, Keane was a handful to deal with offensively despite not finding the back of the net. The junior single-handily outshot the Wolf Pack, 9-5, and equaled Nevada's shot-on-goal count with four. San Diego State emerged with a 2-1 win thanks to Booth's goal with 71 seconds remaining.
The Aztecs return to action on Friday when they face Boise State on the road. First tap is slated for 4 p.m. MT.
