Senior forward Jordan Ongaro scored a season-high two goals for the Aztecs (3-7-1, 0-3-1 Pac-12), who answered an early Washington goal in the first half, and later pulled within one in the second half. Senior midfielders Abraham Villon and Blake Wise each recorded one assist, while senior midfielder Kevin Bick scored his second goal of the season in the 85th minute and led the Aztecs with six shots.

After Washington closed out the first half with two goals by Darwin Jones, Ongaro's second score of the day off an assist from Villon cut San Diego State's deficit to 3-2 in the 75th minute.

However, Washington quickly responded with Cristian Roldan's second goal of the match in the 77th minute, and a Josh Heard score in the 85th minute extended its lead, 5-2.
