AUSTIN, Texas - San Diego State's Sirene Blair (South Jordan, Utah) climbed six spots into tie for fifth place on the individual leaderboard after carding her second straight score of 2-under par 70 on Monday during the second round of the 40th annual Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational at the University of Texas Golf Club.

As a team, SDSU slipped one notch into a tie for ninth with Mountain West foe UNLV at 11-over 587 after shooting a combined 9-over 297 on the par-72, 6,143-yard track.

Blair's day began inauspiciously with a bogey on her first hole; however, the Mountain West Co-Golfer of the Month for September played spot-free the rest of the way, recording 14 pars to go with three birdies, including the par-4 No. 6, which witnessed only six birdies by the entire 96-golfer field during the second round. With her effort, Blair finished with a 36-hole total of 4-under 140 and remains just three strokes in back of UCLA's Alison Lee (-7) and Jessica Peng of Mississippi State (-7), who both share the top spot heading into Tuesday's final round.

Additionally, Emma Henrikson (Malmö, Sweden) jumped eight spots into a tie for 20th at even-par 144, following her second 72 in a row. The SDSU sophomore overcame a double-bogey on No. 6 and a bogey at the 13th by draining a trio of birdies, including two on her last three holes and now sits just four shots behind Blair.

Conversely, fellow classmate Shannon Lubar (Littleton, Colo.) was unable to advance up the leaderboard, slipping eight places into a tie for 59th at 7-over 151 after posting a second-round 78. The University of Denver transfer got off to a rough start, finishing the front nine at 6-over, before shooting even-par the rest of the way, highlighted by seven pars and a birdie on the par-4 No. 10.

Similarly, Paige Spiranac (Scottsdale, Ariz.) also experienced early difficulty and had to settle for a 79 on Monday. The Aztec junior recorded four bogeys on the front nine and another three after the turn to tumble 16 places into a tie for 67th at 10-over 154.

Rounding out the SDSU contingent was senior Maureen Dunnagan (Lexington, S.C.), who ended the day in a tie for 79th after firing a 5-over 77. Dunnagan found herself at 7-over for the round through seven holes, but played bogey-free golf for the rest of the afternoon, accentuated by birdies on holes No. 9 and 13. UCLA (-13) took over the top spot in the team standings after tying for the lowest collective score of the second round with a 6-under 282, while Arizona State (-10) hopscotched into second place ahead of first-round leader Miami (-8).

The Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational concludes on Tuesday with final-round action, with the Aztecs slated tee off with UNLV, Texas-San Antonio and TCU in a shotgun start, beginning at 8:15 a.m. CT (6:15 a.m. PT).
