SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - The San Diego State men's tennis' doubles team of senior Hunter Nicholas (Park City, Utah) and junior Thorsten Bertsch (Mannheim, Germany) lost in the championship round of the doubles bracket in the Battle of the Bay Classic on Sunday in San Francisco, Calif.
The Aztecs duo fell to San Francisco's team of Bernardo Saraiva and Nils Skajaa, 8-2.
In singles action, Bertsch dropped his semifinal match in three sets to California's Andre Goransson, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
The Aztecs continue their fall season on Saturday, Oct. 19, at the ITA Regionals in Malibu, Calif.
