SAN DIEGO - Registration is now open for a pair of San Diego State softball camps this summer. The first camp will be held Aug. 9-10, while the second is scheduled for Aug. 25. Both will be held at the SDSU Softball Stadium.
On Aug. 9-10, the Aztecs will host an Advanced Softball Showcase for players in the seventh grade and up. The Aug. 9 session is set to run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and the following morning from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The camp is limited to 30 players on a first come, first serve basis, and participants are urged to check in 30 minutes prior to start time on day 1.
Each player must bring her own softball equipment, including a batting helmet, batting gloves, glove, sweats, catchers gear, tennis shoes, cleats, a visor or hat and a water bottle. The price of registration is $100.
The Softball Specialty Camp is for players 12 years old and up. It will be broken up into two sessions, the first on pitching, catching and defense from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while the second session focusing on hitting will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Pitching participants must bring a catcher, and catching participants must have catching gear. The specialty camp is $100 for one session or $175 for both sessions.
