LOS ANGELES - San Diego State softball players Lorena Bauer (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) and Patrice Jackson (Kansas City, Mo.) were each named to the 2013 Easton Division I All-America Team, Easton Sports, Inc., recently announced. Bauer was chosen as a first-team selection, while Jackson was a second-team pick.

Athletes selected to the Easton All-American teams are those who have had an outstanding season in the circle or who have shown Easton power and prowess at the plate and represent the Easton brand in some aspect.

Bauer and Jackson are the fifth and sixth Aztecs in program history to earn All-America honors.

A junior, Bauer hit a team-high .401 with 13 home runs and 49 RBIs. Bauer, who also was an all-MW selection after leading the league with a .469 batting average in conference games, also topped SDSU in hits (67), doubles (18), RBIs and on-base percentage (.462). A first-team NFCA All-West Region selection and two-time MW Player of the Week, Bauer finished among the San Diego State single-season bests in RBIs (T-1st, 49), batting average (2nd), OPS percentage (2nd, 1.228), extra-base hits (2nd, 33), doubles (2nd, 18), total bases (2nd, 128), slugging percentage (3rd, .766), on-base percentage (4th), home runs (T-4th) and hits (T-5th).

Also a junior, Jackson hit .366 with a team-high 18 home runs and 48 RBIs. Jackson, who was named the MW Player of the Year after leading the league in conference games in slugging percentage (1.042), runs (19), home runs (9), total bases (50) and RBIs (19, tied), also led the Aztecs with a .770 slugging percentage. A first-team NFCA All-West Region pick and MW Player of the Week on March 19, Jackson ranked among the all-time SDSU single-season leaders in slugging percentage (2nd), home runs (2nd), OPS percentage (3rd, 1.226), extra-base hits (3rd, 29), total bases (3rd, 124), RBIs (T-3rd), sacrifice flies (T-4th, 3), walks (T-5th, 27), on-base percentage (8th, .456), runs (T-8th, 37) and batting average (10th).

San Diego State finished with a 36-20 record in 2013 and a sixth Mountain West Championship.
