SAN DIEGO - San Diego State water polo senior Amber Pezzolla has been invited to USA Water Polo's Senior National Team Selection Camp. The three-time All-American is one of 27 players who were invited to compete for a roster spot.
Pezzolla will be in Los Alamitos, Calif., starting May 17 for the three-day training camp. At the end of training, 15 athletes will be named to the World League Super Final roster, which will compete in Beijing, China, June 1-6. Regardless of the roster announcement, Pezzolla will be guaranteed to play in the World League Preliminaries in Southern California from May 24-27.
National Team training and competitions will continue through the end of June and culminate with the June 30 announcement of 14 players, who will compete at the World Championships in Barcelona, Spain, July 21-Aug. 2.
Pezzolla is coming off a fourth and final season at SDSU where she earned all-Big West first-team accolades after leading the team in goals (71) and steals (69), while adding the second-most assists on the squad (38).
