RENO, Nev. - The San Diego State softball team saw its 13-game win streak snapped in a 4-2 loss to Nevada Sunday afternoon in Reno, Nev. The Aztecs, who are receiving votes in the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, dropped to 25-13 with the loss and 5-1 in Mountain West play, while the Wolf Pack improved to 23-18 and 2-4.

SDSU had taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the sixth inning when senior Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.) singled to right field and junior Patrice Jackson (Kansas City, Mo.) moved to third and scored on a fielding error by Nevada catcher Chelsea Venable.

The Wolf Pack, however, scored three times with two outs in the bottom of the sixth on a two-run double by Karley Hopkins and an RBI single by Megan Sweet.

Nevada's Megan Dortch then held San Diego State scoreless in the seventh, with the only blemish coming on a two-out walk to senior Tiffany Corder (San Clemente, Calif.), to pick up the win.

The Aztecs got on the scoreboard in the top of the first when Jackson hit a two-out solo home run, her team-leading 10th of the season.

The Wolf Pack answered in the second off SDSU freshman left-hander Danielle O'Toole (Upland, Calif.) as Venable's two-out single plated Sara Parsons.

Kamerin May had two hits to pace the San Diego State offense, while Jackson homered, walked and scored two runs.

Senior Rebecca Arbino (Clovis, Calif.) (14-8) took the loss after allowing three runs on two hits and two walks over 1 2/3 innings of relief, while striking out one. O'Toole pitched the first 4 1/3 innings and gave up one run on four hits and a walk with two strikeouts.

The Aztecs continue their nine-game road trip with a non-conference contest vs. Cal State Fullerton at 6 p.m. PT Wednesday.

NOTES: This was SDSU's fourth 13-game winning streak (also 2003, 2006 and 2011), but the program has never won 14 straight games ... San Diego State made the NCAA tournament in each of the previous seasons it had a 13-game win streak ... The Aztecs are now 13-3 all-time against Nevada ... SDSU dropped to 22-5 when scoring first, 25-6 when leading at any point in the game and 10-3 when scoring in the first inning ... 1B Kamerin May had her 10th multi-hit game of the season, which ranks fourth on the team ... RF Patrice Jackson had her fifth multi-run contest of 2013, which ties her with LF Kayla Jordan for the most on the team ... RHP Rebecca Arbino had won her last seven decisions prior to today's loss.
