PENN RELAYS DAY THREE RESULTS | TRITON INVITATIONAL COMPLETE RESULTS
PHILADELPHIA/LA JOLLA, Calif. - The No. 21 San Diego State track and field team competed in the final day of both the Penn Relays and Triton Invitational Saturday, posting numerous collegiate and season bests in the process.
At the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Kristen Brown finished eighth in the 100-meter hurdles championship with a time of 13.69 seconds. Brown had qualified for the championship after taking seventh in the prelims in 13.68 on Friday.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Shanieka Thomas, Maderia Toatley, Deyna Roberson and Renetia James initially ran a time of 3:35.42 in the college division, which would have been third and ranked sixth all-time in program history, but the team was disqualified.
At the Triton Invitational in nearby La Jolla, Josefine Koskinen won the 1,500 in a season-best time of 4:37.20, besting 17 other competitors. She also took 11th in the 400 in a collegiate PR of 57.92.
In the Leon Roach Pole Vault Invitational, Karen Snapper cleared 12 feet, 10 inches (3.91m) to finish third of 11 entrants with a PR. Heather Hamilton of Toronto won the event at 13-07.25 (4.15m).
Other top-five marks on the day went to Thoraya Maronsey in the triple jump (second, wind-aided 38-06.75 (11.75m)), Jessica McCall in the 1,500 (third, 4:47.31), Laura Vazquez in the 3,000 (third, 10:44.70), Brittany Bozeman in the long jump (third, season-best 18-08.50 (5.70m)), Hannah Sawatzki in the 3,000 (fourth, 10:47.92) and Maya Carter in the 400-meter hurdles (fifth, collegiate-best 1:02.81).
In its final meet before the Mountain West Championships, SDSU will compete in the Occidental Invitational on Saturday, beginning at 11 a.m. PT.
