BOISE, Idaho - The San Diego State softball team dropped a 5-3 decision to Boise State in the series finale Sunday in Boise, Idaho. The Aztecs fell to 28-16 overall and 6-3 in Mountain West play, which ties them with Colorado State atop the league standings, while the Broncos moved to 19-23-1 and 3-6.

The game ended when BSU's Tara Glover hit a two-out walkoff home run in the bottom of the seventh inning. The win gave Boise State the series with both of its wins coming on walkoff homers. SDSU won the other contest in extra innings.

San Diego State senior right-hander Rebecca Arbino (Clovis, Calif.) had retired the first two Broncos in the seventh before Jordan Kreiger extended the inning with a single up the middle on the ninth pitch of the at-bat. Glover then took the first pitch she saw over the right field wall to end the game.

The Aztecs had rallied from a 3-0 deficit by getting on the scoreboard in the fourth on a solo homer by junior Patrice Jackson (Kansas City, Mo.), her team-leading 13th of the season. SDSU then scored two more runs in the fifth on a single by sophomore Kayla Jordan (San Diego/Bonita Vista HS) that plated freshman Monica Downey (San Diego/Madison HS) and a sacrifice fly by senior Tiffany Corder (San Clemente, Calif.) that allowed redshirt freshman Victoria Kobold (Concord, Calif.) to score.

San Diego State couldn't scratch any more runs across the plate, however, as it left two on in the sixth and went in order in the seventh, setting up Glover's two-run walkoff home run.

Arbino (16-10) took the loss after allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk over 6 2/3 innings. She struck out five.

Senior Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.) was 1-for-1 with a walk and a sacrifice bunt for the Aztecs.

After playing nine straight road games, SDSU returns to San Diego to play host to Fresno State in a three-game series, beginning at 6 p.m. PT Friday.
