RANCHO SANTA FE, Calif. - The San Diego State women's golf team fired a final-round 325 on Tuesday to finish in 12th place in the inaugural SDSU Farms Invitational at The Farms Golf Club. The Aztecs totaled a collective 88-over 952 in their final tournament of the regular season on the challenging par-72, 6,211 course layout.

SDSU was led by senior Christine Wong (Richmond, B.C.), who tied for the 23rd position at 14-over 230 after shooting a final-round 79. Wong carded a double-bogey and three bogeys over her final four holes of the front nine, which derailed her progress on the individual leaderboard, before closing with a birdie and six pars.

In addition, freshman Emma Henrikson (Malmö, Sweden) matched Wong's 79 to tie for the 34th spot out of 81 golfers with a combined 18-over 234. Despite recording 12 pars and sinking a birdie putt on her final hole, Henrikson's round was blemished by a triple-bogey on the par-5 18th, her ninth hole of the day, followed by a double bogey on the par-4 sixth.

Meanwhile, Paige Spiranac's (Scottsdale, Ariz.) struggles continued on Tuesday, as the sophomore transfer posted nine bogeys and a pair of double-bogeys en route to a final-round 85, slipping 11 places into a tie for 52nd at 26-over 242.

Elsewhere, sophomore Kristina Lynn (Carlsbad, Calif.) figured in the Aztecs' final team score after firing an 82 on Tuesday to tie for 62nd with a combined 31-over 247, while fellow classmate Amy Alston (Mission Viejo, Calif.) rounded out the SDSU starting lineup, finishing in the 80th spot at 49-over 265, following a difficult final-round 95.

The Aztecs' two individual competitors in the tournament, junior Maureen Dunnagan (Lexington, S.C.) and classmate Rebecca Schneider (Cave Creek, Ariz.), tied for the 67th and 71st positions, respectively. Dunnagan logged an 87 over the final 18 holes, while Schneider posted 11 pars on the day en route to a final-round 81, her best score of the 54-hole tournament.

Buoyed by four of the top-six individual finishers, including medalist Sophia Popov, USC (+11) came away with the team title, capturing an easy victory over Arizona (+32), followed by Pepperdine (+40), Texas (+46) and UNLV (+50). Popov (+1) held off a late surge by Arizona's Manon Gidali (+2), who carded a final-round low of 2-under 70 to finish in second, one shot ahead of the Women of Troy's Annie Park (+3).

SDSU will now have three weeks to prepare for the Mountain West championships, scheduled for April 25-27, at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
