SAN DIEGO - A two-out single by junior Lorena Bauer (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) in the bottom of the sixth inning scored redshirt freshman Victoria Kobold (Concord, Calif.) to give the San Diego State softball team a 1-0 victory and three-game sweep over New Mexico Saturday afternoon at SDSU Softball Stadium.

The Aztecs (22-12, 3-0 Mountain West), who are receiving votes in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, have now won 10 consecutive games, outscoring their opponents, 64-16, over the stretch.

SDSU's decisive inning started when Kobold reached via infield single and moved to second on a sacrifice bunt by sophomore Kayla Jordan (San Diego/Bonita Vista HS). Following a walk by junior Katie Mathis (Grass Valley, Calif.), Kobold moved to third on a fielder's choice grounder by senior Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.) which got Mathis out at second. Bauer then took a 1-0 pitch down the right field line to score Kobold with the game-winning run.

The RBI was the 117th of Bauer's career, which ties Justeen Maeva (2010-12) for the most all-time at San Diego State. Bauer finished with two hits in the game to raise her batting average to a team-high .406 this year.

Freshman Leia Ruiz (Chino, Calif.) also had a hit for the Aztecs.

Senior right-hander Rebecca Arbino (Clovis, Calif.) picked up her third win of the weekend after allowing two hits and two walks over four innings of scoreless relief. Arbino (13-7) struck out six. Freshman left-hander Danielle O'Toole (Upland, Calif.) got the start and gave up four hits over three scoreless innings, while striking out three.

The duo stranded 10 Lobo (16-23, 0-3 MW) runners in the game, including two each in the first, second, fourth and fifth inning. Arbino and O'Toole limited UNM to a .000 (0-for-7) batting average with runners in scoring position and a .154 mark (2-for-13) with runners on base.

SDSU plays host to San Diego in a non-conference contest at 6 p.m. PT Wednesday.
