SANTEE, Calif. - The San Diego State softball posted a pair of shutouts Saturday night at the San Diego Classic II in Santee, Calif. The Aztecs (19-12), who stretched their season-long winning streak to seven games, defeated Seton Hall, 9-0, in the opener before taking care of Texas Tech, 3-0, in the nightcap.

In the first game, junior Patrice Jackson (Kansas City, Mo.) tied a school record (done multiple times) with two home runs to lead SDSU to the 9-0 win over the Pirates (10-10). Jackson had a two-run homer in the top of the first and a solo one in the fifth. She finished with a .550 batting average (11-for-20) this week (seven games) with four home runs, 13 RBIs, seven runs, three doubles and four walks, while owning a 1.300 slugging percentage and .615 on-base percentage.

Jackson, junior Lorena Bauer (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS), sophomore Kayla Jordan (San Diego/Bonita Vista HS) and freshman Monica Downey (San Diego/Madison HS) all had two hits apiece to pace the San Diego State offense.

Bauer, senior Tiffany Corder (San Clemente, Calif.), junior Kristin May (Corona, Calif.), redshirt freshman Victoria Kobold (Concord, Calif.) and freshman Leia Ruiz (Chino, Calif.) also drove in runs for the Aztecs.

Freshman left-hander Danielle O'Toole (Upland, Calif.) (8-5) got the win after allowing six hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. She struck out six.

In the nightcap, SDSU extended its winning streak and snapped the Red Raiders' (24-9) 10-game winning streak in a 3-0 win.

With the game tied at 0-0 after five innings, Jordan was hit by a pitch and moved to second on a sac bunt by Corder. Senior Kamerin May (Corona, Calif.) then singled up the middle for the first run of the game. Bauer followed with a two-run homer over the centerfield fence. It was her team-leading eighth of the season.

Senior right-hander Rebecca Arbino (Clovis, Calif.) (10-7) got the win after allowing just two hits and two walks over seven scoreless innings. She had a no-hitter through five frames against a team that came into the game with a .354 average, 38 homers and 246 runs (7.69 runs per game). She finished with a pair of strikeouts.
