LOS ANGELES - The No. 66 San Diego State Men's Tennis team got its most impressive win of the dual-match season thus far, defeating No. 60 Georgia Tech, 4-0, Saturday in the second day of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend at Marks Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif.

"The guys competed like Aztecs," SDSU head coach Gene Carswell said.

Senior Derek Siddiqui played a big role in SDSU's victory, defeating No. 32 Juan Spir, 6-4, 6-1, to begin singles play. He also teamed up with sophomore Andranik Khachatryan to win the third and final doubles match of the day against Garrett Gordon and Eduardo Segura to clinch the doubles point for the Aztecs.

Junior Hunter Nicholas added another crucial victory for SDSU at No. 3 singles, topping Eduardo Segura, 5-7, 6-3, 6-2. No. 123 Khachatryan sealed the match victory for the Aztecs in the No. 4 singles slot with a 6-7 (3), 6-1, 7-5 win over Garrett Gordon.

The SDSU doubles team of junior Shiva Sangwan and sophomore Spencer Simon chipped in with an 8-6 victory over Colin Edwards and Nathan Rakitt, as the Aztecs beat a ranked opponent for the first time since knocking off UC Santa Barbara in April of last season.

Up next for the Aztecs is a trip to San Luis Obispo, Calif. on Saturday, where SDSU will take on No. 57 Cal Poly beginning at 11 a.m. PT.
