The San Diego State men's soccer team was edged by No. 5/4/5 UCLA on the road Friday afternoon, 2-1. With the decision, the Aztecs end their season with a 7-9-3 record (1-7-2 Pac-12), while the Bruins upped their mark to 13-2-3 (8-1-1 Pac-12).

The teams played a scoreless 45 minutes, but SDSU struck first with a goal in the 54th minute. Senior co-captain Ata Ozbay sent in a corner kick where junior co-captain Kevin Bick successfully converted his header. The shot that got past UCLA goalkeeper Earl Edwards was Bick's fifth of the season and marked the third time in four games in which he has scored a goal.

Then 2 minutes, 3 seconds later, the Bruins leveled the score with their 56th-minute goal. Ryan Hollingshead scored off header along the right side of the box after a passes from Evan Raynr and Leo Stolz.

With less than 35 minutes left and the score tied, the Aztecs could not get going offensively. Following Hollingshead's goal, UCLA held San Diego State without a shot attempt the rest of the way. The Bruins, meanwhile, received the game-winner in the 73rd minute when Reed Williams scored off a through ball sent in by Raynr.

UCLA outshot the Aztecs, 15-4, and held a 7-1 advantage in shots on goal. Kevin Bick led the Aztecs with two shots. Robbie Freise and Kody Duff each attempted one apiece. Blake Hylen, the starting goalkeeper for SDSU had five saves in net.

MAN OF THE MATCH: Ata Ozbay is the Man of the Match for his effort vs. UCLA. The senior co-captain played his final game at San Diego State and assisted on the Aztecs' lone goal of the afternoon, which gave SDSU a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute. The forward played the entire 90 minutes and the assist was his team-best sixth of the year.
