SAN DIEGO, Calif. - San Diego State women's volleyball middle blocker Andrea Hannasch has been named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District 8 Women's Volleyball Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced today.

A native of New Braunfels, Texas, Hannasch is majoring in mathematics with minors in physics and computer science. She has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.82.

On the court, the senior leads the team in points (3.58 per set) and ranks second in hitting percentage (.287) and blocks (1.08 per set) while averaging 2.78 kills and 1.27 digs. She has started all 25 of the Aztecs' matches this season and played in every set during the 2012 campaign. She ranks among the top 10 in the Mountain West in hitting percentage, blocks and points entering tonight's contest against Air Force.

The teams, which are selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Hannasch now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
