SAN DIEGO -

The San Diego State cross country team continues its postseason at the 2012 NCAA West Regional Championships Friday in Seattle, Wash. The women's 6,000-meter race begins at noon at the Jefferson Park Golf Course. There will be 34 teams competing in the event.

SDSU will look to improve on last year's 28th-place finish in Palo Alto, Calif. Senior Marianne Hogan led the Aztecs with a time of 22 minutes, 18 seconds, while senior Josefine Koskinen finished second for SDSU (23:03). Junior Amy Reaser was the only other current Aztec to compete last year, finishing with a time of 26:01.

San Diego State has had a solid 2012 season, including winning the individual and team titles at the Titan Invitational in Fullerton, Calif., on Oct. 19. It was the second meet this season SDSU has done so. The event also saw 14 of the 15 San Diego State runners set 5K personal records. On the year, SDSU has two first place, one second and one third-place finish.

Hogan notched her second individual crown, fourth of her career, at the Titan Invite and has led the way for SDSU in five out of six races in 2012. She also earned the team's only Mountain West Athlete of the Week honor on Oct. 10. The senior led the Aztecs at the MW Championships Oct. 26, with a time of 22:00.7 to finish 23rd out of 62 runners, as SDSU finished eighth overall with 210 points.
