SAN DIEGO - Megan Jurado of San Diego State women's soccer has been named a 2012 first-team All-American by CollegeSportsMadness.com, the website announced on Monday. The senior forward is just the second Aztec women's soccer player to garner All-American honors since Catherine McGuire earned similar accolades during the 1998 season.

The honor is in addition to being named the website's Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year and to its all-MW first team last week. In conference play, Jurado had two game-winners and led the league in points (13) and goals (five), while tying for first in assists (three).

On the season, Jurado netted 14 goals and nine assists for a team-high 37 points. Her 14 goals and 37 points each rank second most in school history for a single season. The San Jose Calif., native has also tallied seven game-winners in 2012, which is tied for fourth in the NCAA rankings.

San Diego State (19-1-1) earned a No. 2 seed in the 2012 NCAA Championships and will play host to Cal State Northridge in the opening round this weekend. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. PT start on Saturday, Nov. 10 at SDSU Sports Deck.
