COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State senior Katelyn Weddle has earned Mountain West Women's Swimmer of the Week honors for meets contested from Nov. 12-18, 2012. It is the fourth Mountain West honor for Weddle in her career, one each year.
Weddle, a product of Yuma, Ariz., placed first in two individual events and swam legs of two relays as the Aztecs finished third at the Arena Invitational in Long Beach, Calif., last week. Weddle recorded NCAA `B' cut times in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke races, winning both events. Her time of 1:01.20 in the 100 and 2:13.71 in the 200 both rank as the top times in the event in the MW this season.
Weddle swam the second leg of the 400-yard medley relay for the Aztecs. The team placed third with a time of 3:40.60 that ranks as the top time in the MW this year. The 200-yard medley relay squad placed second in a top MW time of 1:40.00 with Weddle swimming the second leg.
San Diego State returns to dual meet action next Saturday, Dec. 1, when it host Mountain West foe Fresno State for a dual meet at 12:00 p.m.at the Aztec Aquaplex.
