SAN DIEGO -

SDSU-WYOMING NOTES

San Diego State, a team picked to finish fifth in the Mountain West prior to the start of the season by the league media, will try and secure the school's 19th conference championship in football and first since 1998 this Saturday when it travels to Laramie, Wyo., to face Wyoming.

Game time is set for 1:30 p.m. MT (12:30 p.m. PT) and the contest will be televised by Time Warner Cable SportsNet (San Diego Cox Cable channel 71/1071, San Diego Time Warner channel 35/403, DirecTV channel 691 and AT&T U-verse channel 777/1777). The game can also be heard on KOGO FM 95.7 and AM 600.

The Aztecs (8-3, 6-1 MW) ride a six-game winning streak into Saturday's regular-season finale against the Cowboys (4-7, 3-4 MW). It is their longest since 1995 and matches the longest since 1981. SDSU has not lost since a 52-40 setback at Fresno State on Sept. 29, which will be 35 days ago on Saturday. San Diego is one of seven teams in the country which has not suffered a loss during that period of time (also Arkansas State, Clemson, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Notre Dame and Ohio State).

San Diego State is coming off a bye week after defeating Air Force, 28-9, on Nov. 10 at Qualcomm Stadium. The Aztecs held the Falcons to their lowest scoring output since 2010 and rushed for 268 yards in the contest. Senior running back Walter Kazee posted his third 100-yard rushing effort of the season and the fifth of his career with 106 rushing yards.

In addition to looking secure a conference title, SDSU is also looking to post a ninth victory during the regular season. That is accomplishment San Diego State has not had since the 1977 squad posted a 10-1 record as an independent. A win would also give the Aztecs their first single-season seven-game winning streak since the 1977 campaign (36 seasons ago).
