SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego State swimming team finds itself ranked 10th in the nation this week in the Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com Top 25. The rankings reflect each team's best performance meets swum over the past three weeks (October 22-Novemebr 18) and reflect SDSU's third-place finish at last weekend's Arena Invitational.
For each meet, individual times are ranked according to their percentile. These are then compiled into a team score. (There is a minimum of 27 swims necessary to calculate a team score). This week's Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com Top 25 takes the best team performance over the three-week period of Oct. 22-Nov. 8.
The points figure listed after each team is a ranking of the team's strength over the latest three-week period. San Diego State's index of 4.1, for example indicates that the team's swims ranked, on average, among the top 4.1% of the best times nationally over the three-week period covered by the poll.
The Aztecs' next meet is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1, when they will host Mountain West foe Fresno State at 12:00 p.m. at the Aztec Aquaplex.
