SAN DIEGO - San Diego State men's soccer midfielder Kody Duff was named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-District 8 Men's Soccer Team, the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) announced today.

A native of Roseville, Calif., Duff is studying accounting at SDSU and has a cumulative grade-point average of 3.53.

On the field, the junior is second on the team in goals (6) and points (13), while playing in all 16 games and earning 10 starts. His two game-winning goals lead all Aztecs.

Duff is the first San Diego State men's soccer student-athlete to earn all-district accolades since 2003 when Kevin Sapanli was recognized.

The teams, which are selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Duff now advances to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
