SAN DIEGO, Calif. - The San Diego State swimming team finds itself ranked 16th in the nation this week in the season's first Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com Top 25. The rankings reflect each team's best performance meets swum over the past three weeks (October 8-28).
For each meet, individual times are ranked according to their percentile. These are then compiled into a team score. (There is a minimum of 27 swims necessary to calculate a team score). This week's Endless Pools/CollegeSwimming.com Top 25 takes the best team performance over the three-week period of Oct. 8-28.
The points figure listed after each team is a ranking of the team's strength over the latest three-week period. San Diego State's index of 12.59, for example indicates that the team's swims ranked, on average, among the top 12.59% of the best times nationally over the three-week period covered by the poll.
The Aztecs are in action this weekend as they will be in Albuquerque, N.M., for a triple dual meet against Mountain West foes New Mexico and Colorado State along with New Mexico State. The competition gets underway on Friday, Nov. 2, and concludes on Saturday (Nov. 3).
