LAS VEGAS -
The San Diego State cross country team finished eighth on Friday at the Mountain West Cross Country Championships in Las Vegas. Senior Marianne Hogan led all Aztecs in the 6,000-meter race at the Silver Bowl Park.
Hogan completed the course in 22 minutes, 0.721 seconds to take 23rd out of 62 competitors. It was the fifth consecutive race that she has been the team's top performer.
SDSU finished eighth as a team with 210 points, only six points behind seventh-place finisher Fresno State. New Mexico won the meet for the fifth consecutive season with 35 points.
Laura Vazquez (22:33.9) and Josefine Koskinen (23:05.721) finished 38th and 45th, respectively, to finish No. 2 and No. 3 on the team for the fourth time this season. Chelsea Kruthers (51st, 23:20.960), Jessica McCall (53rd, 23:34.838) and Rachel Roesgen (57th, 23:47.594) also competed for San Diego State.
The Aztecs next head to Seattle to compete in the NCAA West Regionals on Nov. 9.
