TULSA, Okla. - San Diego State men's tennis player Hunter Nicholas picked up a win in the qualifying consolation bracket on Tuesday at the ITA All-American. The Park City, Utah, native defeated University of San Franciso's Thai Tu, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Thorsten Bertsch, meanwhile, was unable to continue his recent success as he dropped a 7-6 (5), 6-3 decision to VCU's Alexis Heugas.

The first round of qualifying doubles play also got underway on Tuesday, but Derek Siddiqui and Bertsch were unable to advance as the duo fell to Yale's Daniel Hoffman and John Huang by a score of 8-3.

San Diego State will now play host to the Aztec Fall Invite from Oct. 5-7. SDSU will also hold an open event in conjunction with the Invite and all interested participants should email assistant coach Jeff Thomsen for more information at jthomsen@mail.sdsu.edu.
