SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team is set to begin their 2012-13 campaign at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla. The event takes place from Sept. 29-Oct. 7 and starts with the pre-qualifying singles event.
Three Aztecs will make the trip to Tulsa, including Thorsten Bertsch, Hunter Nicholas and Derek Siddiqui. All three will participate in pre-qualifying singles, while Bertsch and Siddiqui will take part in qualifying doubles.

Last season, Nicholas took part in the All-American and picked up consecutive wins in the first and second pre-qualifying rounds before falling short in the match that would have advanced him to the qualifying round.
Bertsch and Siddiqui, meanwhile, were instrumental in conference play last year as they each were named to all-Mountain West team as singles players and as a duo. In 2011, the pair led SDSU at No. 2 doubles with a 12-8 record in dual matches.
Individually, Bertsch went 21-10 last season with a 7-4 mark in tournament play. Siddiqui, on the other hand, went 3-3 in tournament action and also notched nine dual match victories.
After the ITA All-American Championship, the Aztecs will return home to play host to Aztec Fall Invite from Oct. 5-7.
