WOLCOTT, Colo. - The San Diego State women's golf team continued its fall schedule on Monday at the Golfweek Conference Challenge in Wolcott, Colo., by logging a 14-over 302 to find itself in seventh place out of 18 teams. The Aztecs are just two strokes out of sixth and four out of the top five at the par-72, 6,262-yard Red Sky Golf Club, Fazio Course.

SDSU is led by senior Christine Wong, who carded an opening effort of 2-under 70, to find herself in a two-way tie for fifth place. Aztec sophomore Kristina Lynn sits in an 11-way tie for 28th place with a first round score of 3-over 75.

The team's third golfer, Emma Henrikson, notched a 5-over 77 to tie for 45th place with six other competitors. Teammates Gina Clark and Maureen Dunnagan are knotted in 68th place with a score of 8-over 80 after the first 18 holes. Both Clark and Dunnagan each closed out the day with an eagle on their final hole.

Day-one leader, and last year's Challenge winner Chirapat Jao-Javanil, fired a 4-under 68 to sit alone in the top spot, one stroke ahead of second place. Jao-Javanil is one of three golfers from Oklahoma in the top five on the leaderboard. The Sooners are defending their title from one year ago and currently sit tied for first with Pepperdine.

Teams begin the second round of competition Tuesday morning as early as 9:30 a.m. MT from both the No. 1 and No. 10 tees. Live stats are available at golfstat.com.
