DAY ONE RESULTS

The No. 17 San Diego State men's golf team currently stands in fifth place through 36 holes at the season-opening Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational Monday at par-72, 7,124-yard Olympic Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash. The Aztecs posted a score of 15-over 591 to land them behind four other teams among the 14 other squads competing on Monday.

Senior Tom Berry (New Haw, England) led SDSU golfers by carding a 1-under 71 through his first 18 holes. Berry moved up the leader board one spot to land tied for fifth place for the day with a score of 1-under 143.

Sophomore Xander Schauffele (San Diego, Calif.) tied for 18th place at 4-over 148 on the day. Freshman Riccardo Michelini (Carpi, Italy) and junior Austin Kaiser (Atascadero, Calif.) are both tied for 25th place at 6-over 150. Sophomore James Holley (Chatsworth, Calif.) rounds out the group of Aztec golfers as he is tied for 53rd place at 12-over 156.

San Diego State had three golfers compete as individuals, as freshman Robert Gojuangco (San Diego, Calif.) finished fourth (71-72 - 143, +1), freshman Gunn Yang (Pyeong Chang, South Korea) (77-75 - 152, +10) and freshman Kevin Ko (Coquitlam, B.C., Canada) (78-78 - 156, +14) finished tied for 22nd and tied for 25th, respectively.

The third and final round tees off Tuesday with live results available via golfstat.com.
