SAN DIEGO - San Diego State junior Colin Lockett was chosen as the College Football Performance Award National Kickoff Returner of the Week, the organization recently announced. Lockett shares the CFPA award with Auburn's Onterio McCaleb and New Mexico State's Akeelie Mustafa.

In the Aztecs' 42-7 win over Army on Saturday, Lockett returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown. The 96-yd return tied as the seventh longest in program history. It was the second career kickoff return for a touchdown for the Diamond Bar, Calif., native (also Sept. 3, 2011 vs. Cal Poly). Lockett also had a 25-yard return, giving him an average of 60.5 yards per return for the game.

In two games this season, Lockett is averaging 46.7 yards per kickoff return (140 yards on three returns). He also has started both games at wide receiver, leading SDSU with six receptions to go along with 59 yards.

San Diego State continues its three-game homestand Saturday when it plays host to North Dakota at 5 p.m. PT.
