PHILADELPHIA - After advancing to Saturday's semifinals in the Varsity Eight division of the Aberdeen Dad Vail Regatta by winning its repechage heat on Friday, San Diego State turned in a sixth-place finish in its semifinal heat. As a result, it ended the team's competition as the event being conducted on the Schuykill River in Philadelphia this weekend.

The Aztecs' Varsity Eight boat was rowed by the crew of Emma Peck (coxswain), Sarah Gannon (stroke), Chelsee Brewster (seven), Kate Raymond (six), Emily Walton (five), Vivianna Smith (four), Marissa Shaw (three), Sophie Poser (two) and Romaine Desclos (bow).

A total of 25 seconds separated first through sixth place in SDSU's heat with the final results as follows:
1. Grand Valley State - 6:45.076
2. Sacramento State - 6:46.622
3. Temple - 6:49.822
4. St. Joseph's - 6:58.884
5. Middlebury - 7:02.930
6. San Diego State - 7:10.046
