COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Texas A&M senior right-hander Ross Stripling faced the minimum and tossed a no-hitter in the Aggies 1-0 win over San Diego State Saturday afternoon at Blue Bell Park in College Station, Texas. The win improved the Aggies to 36-14 while SDSU dropped to 22-29.

The lone Aztec to reach base on the day was freshman Seby Zavala, who drew a one-out base on balls in the top of the fifth. Zavala was then thrown out at second base attempting to steal. Stripling had retired the first 13 batters he faced prior to the walk and then set down the next 13 hitters in order. His complete-game effort included seven strikeouts as he improved to 9-2 on the season.

In the end, it was just an unearned run that separated the teams during the contest. San Diego State freshman Michael Cederoth (3-4) was the victim of SDSU's defensive lapses as he would take the loss despite allowing the unearned run on the bottom of the second.

In that inning, Chance Bolcerek reached base on a one-out error by third baseman Steven Pallares. Cederoth compounded that miscue with a throwing error on a pickoff attempt that sent Bolcerek to second before Blake Allemand's two-out single brought him home for what would be the only run of the game.

Cederoth would go 4.1 innings allowing three hits along with a pair of walks while striking out three. The right-hander was forced from the game due to injury when he was struck on the jaw by a line drive in the bottom of the fifth.

Cederoth's departure brought sophomore lefty Cole Swanson out of the bullpen in what was his first appearance since undergoing an appendectomy back on March 5. Swanson would toss 2.2 innings and surrender just a pair of hits and a walk with one strikeout. Junior Travis Pitcher came on to pitch the eighth and retired the side in order with one strikeout.

San Diego State and Texas A&M will conclude their weekend series on Sunday (May 13) with a contest scheduled for a noon (CT) start. That contest will be televised live on Cox SD4 in San Diego.
