Final Stats

SAN DIEGO -

SDSU 10, CSUF 0 (5 inn.)

Redshirt sophomore Patrice Jackson (Kansas City, Mo.) drove in a career-high five runs and senior Bailey Micetich (Woodland, Calif.) tossed a five-inning, complete game shutout to lift the San Diego State softball team to a 10-0 victory over Cal State Fullerton Wednesday night at SDSU Softball Stadium. The Aztecs improved to 26-19 with their eighth consecutive win, while the Titans dropped to 17-24.

SDSU scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning, four in the second and another in the third in its second-largest margin of victory this season. Nine different players had at least one hit for San Diego State, which combined for 13 on two home runs, a season-high five doubles and six singles.

Jackson had a three-run homer, a two-run double and scored two runs to pace the Aztec offense. It was her seventh home run on the season and seventh double (fifth in team's eight-game win streak).

Sophomore Hayley Miles (Antelope, Calif.), who on Tuesday was named the national player of the week by both the NFCA and ASA, led off the game with a double and added a solo homer to lead off the second. It was her 15th home run of the season, which ties classmate Lorena Klopp (San Diego/Steele Canyon HS) for the most in a season in program history (Klopp set the mark in 2011). Miles scored two runs and has now reached base safely (via a hit, walk or hit by pitch) in 32 straight games.

Senior Ashley Rose (Antioch, Calif.) was 2-for-2 with an RBI double, while senior Justeen Maeva (San Diego/Mira Mesa HS) singled, scored and had an RBI double. Sophomore Katie Mathis (Grass Valley, Calif.) had an RBI single and a walk, Klopp was 1-for-1 with a walk and redshirt freshman Iris Castaneda (San Diego/Sweetwater HS) walked and scored two runs off the bench.

The offense was plenty for Micetich (12-6), who gave up just two singles and no walks over five innings. She struck out 11, her third double-digit strikeout game of the season and seventh of her career, as no CSUF runner advanced past second base.

The same two teams meet next Wednesday in Fullerton, Calif., at 6 p.m. PT.
